Question

Rain got to it through it's cover on my gas grill. There are a few rusty patches on there.

I tried heating it up to 550, dropping a little oil on there and brushing the heck out of it--no dice.

Cast iron. Any help? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site!  Check out this topic!  I'm going to make another learning article on restoring griddles for everyone to reference! 👍

I used a wire wheel on a cordless drill.  Please wear eye protection.

It worked well to get the rust off.  I also bought a griddle stone.  Takes a little elbow grease, but they do work.
