Crappyice Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Lo The wet fall and winter (and minimal use) has put a hurting on my cooking surface. No rust but I have some scaling and areas no longer seasoned. I tried to reseason it a few months back but were never able to get back to the original sheen. What am I doing wrong?
mowin Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I bought one of those cleaning stones. Worked pretty good. Then I got sheets of emery cloth. Use ample water when sanding. The EC will clog if there's too much crud left. 1
Mlamm24 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) Mine looks the same as the above pic.....what about a wire brush? Think i have a little rust on mine as well. Edited January 17 by Mlamm24

The_Real_TCIII Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I also cant seem to get mine to "take" the seasoning after a restoration. I'm just going to keep cooking on it and see how she goes

Just spent a hr on mine with pumice stone and scouring pad. Not prefect, but good enough to cook on it later. 1

I need a stone 1

Crappyice Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 I'm back to this...I just scrapped it as much as I could and reseasoned. Much better and hoping the rest of the griddle seasons during use 2
